My Subaru eats an alternator at least once a year, without fail.

What brand? Might be time to try a different one.

How does that happen? Is the battery old and weak? Or overtightened serpentine belt? Killing the bearings or just the voltage regulator taking a dump? Is the ground in good shape? Something sounds off.

Im thinking battery is part of the issue too

If it’s old and not holding a charge, that could easily overtax the alternator.

Might be worth trying a new one rather than reman.
